   Overview

Branson Reynolds' home is a log cabin in an aspen grove at the end of a rocky little road in the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado. This area is known as the "Four Corners" where the states of Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico meet. It is part of the vast Colorado Plateau, where canyons, buttes, mesas, plateaus, rivers and mountains merge into some of the world's most spectacular landscapes.

Wander far, and you will find deserted villages of the "Ancient Ones", the Anasazi, whose spirit permeates the land. Today it is home to the Ute, Navajo and Pueblo people, as it was home to their ancestors for centuries. It is also home to mountain lion, bear, bighorn sheep, elk, mule deer, eagle, red-tailed hawk, rattlesnake, pinyon pine, juniper and sagebrush. On first encounter with this land, you sense something "different", something special. The more familiar it becomes, the more special it becomes, until it becomes a friend.

Branson's childhood interests were in the same things he surrounds himself with today, and this led to a master's degree and work in the fields of zoology and archaeology. Luckily, Branson also discovered photography, which became another passion. These interests eventually merged and evolved into his career as a photographer, writer and guide.

Mr. Reynolds' work has appeared in calendars, posters, and numerous publications including "SIERRA", "BACKPACKER", "WILDERNESS", "BUGLE", "WILDLIFE CONSERVATION", "OUTDOORS", TIME/LIFE BOOKS, THE NEW YORK TIMES, and many others. "AMONG THE ASPEN", published by Northland Press, features his photographs along with the writing of friend and naturalist David Petersen, and Branson's book "ONE DRIVE IN A MILLION, published by Desert Dolphin Press, is a guide to the San Juan Skyway of Southwest Colorado.

Consider Branson Reynolds Photographic Adventures tours and workshops, get in touch if you have any questions, and join Branson someday on a journey through a magical land that is truly one of his closest and most intimate friends.
