Overview

Elliot Framan Photography has developed over the years to focus on and to provide two kinds of services: One is photography workshops and the second is photography/cultural tours. It is based in Corrales, New Mexico, a small village with a rural atmosphere. This quiet, picturesque village is ideal for photography workshops, which are kept small so that more attention can be devoted to the needs of each participant. Furthermore, New Mexico is a marvelous and unique place to do photography. It has a history dating back to the earliest Indian settlements through the coming of the Spanish in 1540. It has landscapes, animals, ruins, old churches, an Old Town, ranches, pueblos, the Rio Grande and more. The workshops cover the entire photographic process from image capture to printing with flexibility depending upon the needs and interests of the participants.

The tours are combinations of cultural and photography interests. The places visited have an extensive historical and cultural background that makes them perfect for photography. Each tour concentrates on a particular area giving the participant a feel for the breadth and depth of what is there. The tours not only visit exciting areas but give the participants the tools necessary to capture it with their cameras knowing you will have a memorable record of the trip. Tours are kept small, between six and eight people, which allow Elliot Framan Photography to go to places of interest to the group and to places where large buses and groups cannot go. This also allows guests to spend more time in each location to maximize its value and enjoyment.

Why the selected tour destinations?
New Mexico – Besides living here for 17 years, Elliot has been through the entire north of the state, and much of the south, and understands where to go, what to see, and where to eat. But New Mexico is truly a Land of Enchantment and a special part of the world with an enormous cultural and scenic repertoire that one must see to appreciate.

Southern Tuscany – Having been through the area several times, one can appreciate the uniqueness of the hill towns and surrounding area. It is not overrun with tourists, yet, and so one can blend in with the locals, enjoy magnificent food at reasonable prices and see scenery and a culture that is hundreds of years old.

Israel – The question isn’t if you go to Israel but when. It is a total experience of many dimensions that will change you forever. Regardless of your interests whether historical, spiritual, political, urban development, agricultural, or just plain scenic, there is so much there that you cannot remain unaffected.
