Panza del Artista
Panza del Artista is a unique bed and breakfast in Cusco is base and home throughout most of the workshop. We crash here daily, among luscious local greens and a view of the valley of Cusco from most of our rooms. The compound of two homes serves as our point of embarkation and periods of calm. Wi-fi, coca tea and image editing.
Staying at Panza del Artista - loosely translated as Belly of the Artist - you have immediate access to a world of insider information and local resources in the family’s home next door.
To the Incan culture, Cusco was the center of a larger empire. At Panza you feel immersed in a local’s world where the creative soul or the restless spirit can find inspiration and comfort in this uniquely ancient city.
A home within an empire.
| Curious Kids
Jerry Spagnoli, photo instructor, surrounded by curious children from the town of Andahuaylillas, just south of Cusco. We go out of our way to find areas not as frequented by other foreigners. In fact, sometimes we are the main attraction.
| Adam L. Weintraub
Adam L. Weintraub, founder, host and photographer of PhotoExperience workshops, standing tall in the Upper Andes. Adam has been to Cusco dozens (if not hundreds) of times. His wife hails from Cusco. So Adam has two homes: one in Seattle; another in Cusco. As a person who knows Cusco and its environs as much as anyone can, he will lead us to the most interesting locations. Photographer and PhotoExperience Instructor Bruce Barnbaum says: "Adam is a wonderful, experienced photographer, so he will also lend his photographic expertise throughout the workshop. He proves to be a stellar asset to any workshop."
| Picnic at Maras
Overlooking the salt terraces at one of our favorite off-the-beaten path destinations - an incredibly catered picnic lunch with delicious Peruvian treats and South American wines. Rarely do you experience a treat like this one, with local produce and Cusco flavors, stellar service and a world-class view.
While most meals are surprisingly delicious, we go out of our way to make each meal a learning experience and memory of your trip. Interestingly, many of the presentations wind up being studios for aspiring food photographers.
| Inspired at Machu Picchu
Our group members seeing things as only a photographer might, with our fellow photographers seeing something completely different only inches away! We relish distinction and determination and go out of our way to create unique opportunities for each photographer's interest. Despite the fact that we travel in groups, we rarely take home the same images. Eeach vision is unique and each participant is inspired by something s/he sees beyond the group's dynamics.
